The High Commission for The Commonwealth of Dominica in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Christmas Greetings

May the blessings of peace and happiness be with you this Christmas.

We give gratitude to God for our families and friends, and for the wonderful times which we have had together this year, as we reflect on the true meaning of Christmas – we remember all the blessings which we have been given during 2018.

In this season of joy, we thank God for his protection over Dominica.  As a community, we celebrate the successful fundraising activities and the national building initiatives which we have been able to accomplish together in support of Dominica over the past year.  As we reflect on the recent celebration of Dominica’s 40th anniversary of independence, let us renew our commitment to work together for the love of our beautiful country.

While the festive season is a time of merriment and celebration, it is also a time of giving and a time of hope.    As we celebrate with the exchange of presents with our loved ones, let us remember the less fortunate in our communities and reach out to those in need.   A small donation or gift, a warm meal or a kind word would truly be a blessing to someone.

On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica and staff at the High Commission, I wish you peace and goodwill this festive season and I hope that 2018 will end on a cheerful note.  Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Janet Charles

Acting High Commissioner
